I haven't read the book, but the film is outstanding! Convoluted plot, great acting all around, and deliciously dark, intense and suspenseful story-telling.

we got a bunch of kung fu movies to watch, this one was ok, but the kung fu could have been way sweeter.

I loved it in the theater. the actors give such a pass to such a bad script that I didn't really start poking holes in it until way after the fact. doesn't hold up nearly as well as the first but not too bad a second.
